About BASMA

BASMA is the operating name of Cheam Muslim Welfare Services Ltd. (Charity Reg: 1198897). Our primary objective is to establish a full-fledged community centre for Belmont, Sutton, Cheam, Banstead & Ewell East areas.

We aim to provide a space not just for praying & traditional educational needs but also a fertile ground for physical, mental, religious & social engagement & enrichment for the young & old that shall benefit all generations of Muslims in the community.

Our Journey

  • July 2020: BASMA established during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • April 2021: First Friday prayer at St. John's Community Hall.
  • November 2023: Purchase of first property at 4C Upper Mulgrave road.

The muslim community in Sutton, Cheam and Belmont area is diverse, with members from many Islamic countries and nationalities.
